FAQs
Common questions answered for you.
What types of services do you provide?
We handle a wide variety of “to-do” list items, including minor plumbing (leaky faucets), electrical (light fixture replacement), drywall repair, furniture assembly, painting, and general carpentry. If you have a specific project in mind, feel free to ask!
How do you charge for your services?
We typically charge an hourly rate with a 2-hour minimum, or provide flat-rate quotes for specific, well-defined projects. We believe in transparent pricing and will always provide an estimate before work begins.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. For your peace of mind and ours, we carry full general liability insurance and are fully licensed.
Do I need to provide the materials for the job?
That is up to you! We can use materials you have already purchased, or we can pick up the necessary supplies for you. Please note that time spent shopping for materials is generally billed at our standard hourly rate.
Will I get a specific arrival time or a window?
We value your time. We provide a 30-minute arrival window and will send a text or call when we are on our way so you aren’t stuck waiting around all day.
How do you handle estimates for larger or multi-stage projects?
For simple tasks, we can often provide a rough estimate over the phone or via email based on photos you send us. However, for larger or more complex projects—such as deck repairs, room painting, or multiple “to-do” list items—we prefer to schedule a brief on-site consultation. This allows us to inspect the workspace, identify any hidden challenges (like structural issues or specific hardware needs), and provide you with a detailed, written quote. This ensures there are no surprises on your final invoice and that we arrive fully prepared with the correct tools and materials.
What should I do to prepare my home before you arrive?
To ensure the job goes as smoothly and quickly as possible, we recommend clearing the immediate work area of any fragile items, electronics, or personal clutter. For example, if we are repairing drywall or installing shelving, moving furniture a few feet away from the wall is incredibly helpful. If the project involves water or electricity, please ensure we have clear access to your main shut-off valves or breaker panel. Most importantly, please make sure pets and small children are kept away from the work zone for their own safety, as we often use power tools and sharp equipment.
What happens if a project takes longer than expected or requires extra parts?
We pride ourselves on accuracy, but home repairs can occasionally reveal unexpected issues once we “open up” a project. If we discover that a job requires more time than originally quoted—or if we find that an additional part is needed from the hardware store—we will stop and discuss the situation with you immediately. We never perform additional billable work or purchase extra materials without your explicit verbal or written consent. Our goal is to maintain total transparency, so you are always in control of the project’s scope and budget.
